The automaker Maruti Suzuki, almost all of Jimny customers are second- or third-time buyers who aren’t first-time buyers.

On June 7, Maruti Suzuki released the Jimny’s price range, starting at Rs. 12.74 lac for the base model and rising to Rs. 15.05 lac ex-showroom for the top-spec automatic model. Since the Jimny’s debut at the Auto Expo, reservations had been taken, and by launch, Maruti had received over 30,000 orders. Even though deliveries have already started, according to Maruti, demand for the off-road vehicle with a retro design is growing quickly.

  • Jimny at the starting level receives more bookings.
  • City consumers favour automatic versions
  • Currently, the wait time is roughly seven months.

According to Maruti Suzuki, Jimny has an improved value proposition than Thar.

Before the pricing became public, the Jimny was receiving about 92 bookings per day, according to Mr. Shashank Srivastava, executive director of marketing and sales at Maruti Suzuki in India. Since its release, the SUV has averaged 151 reservations per day, which indicates that it is getting increasingly popular.

Srivastava added that the Jimny offers a higher value even at its beginning price of Rs 12.74 lakh than the Mahindra Thar 4X4, which starts at Rs 13.87 lakh. The Maruti Suzuki Jimny  has five doors as opposed to the Thar’s current three, and 4WD is standard on all variants. The Jimny also comes with six airbags as standard, while all Thar variations only get two airbags.

When compared to the Thar LX 4WD automatic, priced at Rs 16.10 lakh, the Jimny petrol automatic 4WD is about 1.3 lakh rupees less expensive, he continued. Srivastava added that few people are choosing the SUV as their primary car and that the Maruti Suzuki Jimny Jimny is usually viewed as a second or third vehicle by most consumers.

The waiting period for Jimny will be around seven months.

The Maruti Suzuki Jimny now has a waiting period of approximately 30–35 weeks at most locations due to an impressive order book even before the price announcement. According to dealers, the entry-level Alpha version is the most popular choice for customers who wish to customise their SUV to their preferences. The Jimny models with automated transmissions are also performing well, especially in cities like Mumbai.
